I am Mariana Barcellos, singer-songwriter from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I live in Woodstock, NY with my husband, Gabriel Dresdale, a talented cellist and multi-istrumentalist who has accompanied me as I sing well known Brazilian tunes as well as my originals.
We have a darling 7 years old daughter named Michaela Jasmin who inspired us to develop a Music Program for Kids!As a dedicated educator, I love to empower my students to find their unique voices, infusing my lessons with the warmth and spirit of Brazilian culture. My private Singing Lessons are in person or online.
I regularly perform at local venues in the Hudson Valley in New York. My listeners are captivated by the soulful melodies and harmonies from my home country. Through my music and teaching, I love to bridge cultural gaps and I invite everyone to experience the joy and beauty of Brazilian artistry.
I was born on July 30, 1988, in New York City and later moved to Brazil. Brazilian Portuguese is my native language, and my family is from Rio de Janeiro. I began studying voice at 18 and teaching singing at 24. I find the connection between our bodies and voices fascinating; breathing and movement help us sing freely.
In 2013, at 25, I returned to NYC to grow as a singer-songwriter and singing teacher, performing Brazilian Bossa Nova and Samba. I also completed Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training, which deepened my understanding of vocal sounds. The alignment from yoga gave me breathing space and boosted my musical creativity.
In 2016, I moved to Woodstock, New York, where I offer private singing lessons in person or online. If you're eager to explore your voice, you can discover your authentic sound.
