🌊Yemanjá: Sing-Along, an experience to ritualize the start of the year with the cleansing sound & energy of the Ocean.
Kids are welcome to participate!

Songs of the Sea • Voices in Community

On February 1st 2026, we gather to honor Yemanjá — the spirit of the ocean, deep listening, and collective care — in a special sing-along experience led by Brazilian singer-songwriter Mariana Barcellos and band, based in Woodstock, NY.

This is not just a concert. It is a shared singing experience.

Inspired by the album Cantos do Mar (Songs of the Sea) and by Brazilian songs connected to the ocean, water, and devotion, this evening invites participants to listen, sing, feel, and take part, creating a collective field of sound, presence, and connection.

I will gently guide the group through sea-inspired songs — some familiar, some original — with shared refrains, moments of listening, and special guest musicians.

✨ No singing experience is required.
✨ Just a willingness to sing together.
✨ You can choose to dance and or listen to it.

Through my music, teaching, and community work, I love creating spaces where people can gather, connect, and be renewed through sound. This sing-along is a way of beginning the year by honoring Yemanjá in February — a moment of cleansing, listening, and shared singing.

Alongside my band, I’ll be guiding the group through original Songs of the Sea, inviting everyone to sing together in a supported, welcoming way.

As a choir director, private voice teacher, and creator of music programs for children, I see my work as cultural facilitation — helping meaningful gatherings come to life. This is a very special event, and a rare opportunity to sing my ocean-inspired songs in community, with live musical accompaniment.

With Love and Music,

Mariana
